There are numerous IPTV apps out there that allow you to stream IPTV channels on a plethora of different devices. Some are paid while some are available for free, but not every app is the same when it comes to functionality. Some apps are only limited to a specific platform which makes it difficult for people to stream IPTV across different devices as they have to use different apps on each device.

However, those of you who are looking for a solid IPTV player on a bunch of different Smart TV platforms will be glad to know that Smart IPTV, also known as SIPTV is a worthy option. This is one of the oldest running IPTV player apps available on a variety of different platforms.

Smart IPTV, commonly known as SIPTV, is an IPTV player with EPG (Electronic Program Guide) that gives you easy access to the IPTV channels that you want. However, as already mentioned on their official website, Smart IPTV does not contain channels, so you will have to add your own via an IPTV service subscription. Some confused souls assume that the app will be loaded with channels right out of the box, but that’s not the case.

Those who want to enjoy the benefits of using this app will have to add their own channels. But before you go around trying to add channels on the app, you need to learn how to install SIPTV on your preferred devices because that requires a bit of work.

On some devices, installing this app is as simple as installing an app on your phone, but some other platforms require you to do a bit extra to get this app up and running. Also, not every platform is supported so you have to keep in mind what devices Smart IPTV supports before you dive into it.

What are the supported devices for SIPTV?

SIPTV is not only an Android app, but it’s also available on a bunch of different Smart TV platforms as well. On some platforms, however, you may not be able to find it on the official app stores so you will have to download it through their official website.

At the time of writing, the supported devices for SIPTV are Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, LG Smart TVs, Samsung Smart TVs, and MAG devices. So if you have any of these devices then you’re in luck because you can use SIPTV without any problems.

How to setup IPTV on Smart TV?

If you are looking to setup SIPTV on Smart TV then you can do so easily. Just bear in mind that the setup solely depends on the type of Smart TV you have. If you have a Samsung Smart TV with Tizen OS, you need to follow different steps to setup SIPTV while LG Smart TV with WebOS requires different installation steps. I’ll cover both for you.

How to Setup SIPTV on Samsung Smart TV?

Unfortunately, Samsung has removed the SIPTV app from the official Samsung Apps Store for unknown reasons, but that doesn’t mean you can’t install it on your device. The steps are different for Tizen OS TVs and non-Tizen OS TVs.

Tizen OS

If you have a Tizen OS Samsung TV, you have to install it through an external USB drive. Just download and extract the Tizen Widget zipped directory from their official website to the root of the USB flash drive. Insert the flash drive to your Samsung TV and the app will automatically show up in the “My Apps” section of the TV. Make sure that the contents of the zip-file are extracted to the root of the flash drive. Once you do that, you can remove the flash drive and the app will still be on your TV.

Non-Tizen OS

If you have a Samsung TV that doesn’t run Tizen OS then you will have to download a different file. First of all, download the Orsay Widget file to the root of an external USB drive and insert the flash drive to your TV. The SIPTV app will appear in the Samsung Apps section on your TV. Once the app is available on the TV, you can safely remove the USB drive from the TV.

How to Setup SIPTV on LG Smart TV?

Luckily, the official LG app store still offers SIPTV app for download. So all you have to do is head over to the official LG Apps Store and look for SIPTV app in the Entertainment category. It takes just one click to download and install the app on your LG TV from there. Once installed, you can use SIPTV on your LG Smart TV without any issues at all.

  • Some Internet Service Providers throttle video streaming traffic without telling their customers. A VPN encrypts all your traffic and circumvents throttling, blocking and geographical restrictions.

If for some reason the app is not available in your country then sign in through any supported countries LG App Store and install the app from there. You can then switch back to your original country’s account and the app will still be installed and available for use on your TV.

How to add IPTV channels to SIPTV?

SIPTV is very user-friendly, so adding channels and playlists is not difficult at all. If you want to add IPTV channels to SIPTV then you are going to need a playlist from your IPTV service provider. The playlist can either be in M3U or TXT format as both are supported. Here’s how to add IPTV channels to SIPTV

  1. Head over to SIPTV site.
  2. Add your device’s MAC address in the MAC field.
  3. Click the Browse button and select the M3U/TXT playlist that your network provided OR you can add a URL to the M3U/TXT playlist. You can also add the EPG URL if you have one.
  4. Hit submit and restart the SIPTV app on your device.

Once the app is restarted, it should load up all the channels from your IPTV provider within minutes.

Is Smart IPTV (SIPTV) the best app for IPTV?

This mostly depends on what kind of devices you have, and how comfortable you are with setting up IPTV on your preferred devices. If you have a Samsung Smart TV or an LG Smart Tv, SIPTV is definitely a great app that you should try. It is available as a trial for a few days so you can get a feel of the app before you buy the full version.

However, if your main usage device is an Android TV or Amazon Fire TV device then there are plenty of different IPTV apps that you can use, some of which are absolutely free. So, ultimately it depends on what you are looking for. But as far as IPTV player apps for Smart TVs go, SIPTV is definitely one of the best IPTV apps out there in the market.
